There's an IMAP mailbox we use to keep track of logcheck mails with messages for which rules should get written. If you are looking for a way to contribute to logcheck, this might be a good way to practice:
Hostname: imap.madduck.net
Protocol: IMAP-SSL
Port: 993
Username: logcheck-todo@madduck.net
Password: logcheck
In mutt, you can use c and then imaps://logcheck-todo%40madduck.net:logcheck@imap.madduck.net.
Note that there are subfolders and the INBOX is usually kept empty; if it isn't, maybe you can move the messages to the appropriate subfolders?
When you are writing the rules for given message, move it to your own WIP_username folder, e.g. WIP_madduck, but don't go away before the filter is written and submitted as per RuleSubmission!
You may also use http://webmail.madduck.net to connect to that mailbox if you prefer.
